Wills & Trusts

A strong plan will not only make sure your wishes are honored, but will give comfort, protection, and strengthened family bonds to those you leave behind.

A will directs what happens to your assets after death, including who receives your property and who will manage distribution. Everyone should have one — without it, decisions about your property are left to local state law.

A trust can be a powerful planning tool. There are many different types of trusts; we will work together to determine whether a trust is right for you.

Whether you are providing for a spouse, a same-sex partner, children and grandchildren, children of a prior marriage, someone with a disability, or a charitable organization, I will work through the issues and questions with you to ensure that your plan achieves your goals.

  • Mary Schinke provided excellent guidance to me and my co-executor as we navigated the probate process, resolving an estate with many loose ends. It would have been impossible for us executors to navigate the issues without Mary—she patiently explained every legal obligation to us, and carefully led us in resolving debt issues and distributions. In preparing the paperwork for the court, Mary ensured that the most accurate information would be conveyed. Mary carefully prepared for every meeting, and had all the time in the world for us when we met with her. Her cheerful “can do” attitude went a long way in getting us past the knotty issues. We are grateful to have worked with Mary!
